The difference between those who have and those who have not has never been so prominent than sights experienced whilst wandering in San Francisco. I clicked and strolled, conscious that these guys were catching their dinner. In true San Francisco style, they smiled, chatted and explained how they catch their crab. Do they catch for wholesale? Oh no, it’s for their family. Dinner tonight is fresh crab.

In a city where looking up and down is at surroundings and not in judgement, I stood at the corner of Powell and Sutter awaiting a cable-car. You are never bored in San Francisco, people are humourous and expressive – as you can see here in this Dentchaser. It goes beyond that though, people’s eyes hold a sparkle and it is most definitely contagious. Can you tell I fell in love with the city?!

A trip to Wicklow Gaol on an evening photo walk gave me the perfect opportunity to try out my new 28mm. Fun! Such a great place, you get a real sense of days gone by and the pain and loneliness that was surely felt in this stark but beautiful place.

Sun lines

Went for a wander yesterday, up to IMMA and then onto Collins Barracks.. finishing up with a few drinks in town. I love the way strong light creates beautiful strong lines in shadows. This one was taken of Heuston South Quarter, quick pause to see it look really lovely for a change. Normally, I feel a sense of sadness here, can’t explain it – just seems so empty and kind of abandoned. Sun really does make such a difference!
